Latin Jazz Trombone Goodness from Noah Bless

Angel Romero - December 17, 2020

Trombonist, composer and producer Noah Bless has been involved with Latin Jazz and salsa for many years. New York Strong is his new solo Latin Jazz album.

New York Strong presents a set of original pieces as well as new versions of classics by Ray Santos, Baden Powell, Antonio Carlos Jobim and even famed American folk singer James Taylor. It is a superbly performed Latin Jazz album rooted in Cuban, Puerto Rican, Brazilian (samba and bossa nova) and American folk traditions. You’ll find outstanding solo trombone moments and exquisite interplay with the bass, piano and the spectacular rhythm section.

Noah Bless had performed with some of the biggest names in salsa and Latin Jazz: Celia Cruz, Oscar D’Leon, La India, Eddie Palmieri, Ray Santos, the Spanish Harlem Orchestra and Arturo O’Farrill’s Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra.

The lineup includes Noah Bless on trombone; Mike Eckroth on piano; Boriz Koslov on bass; Pablo Bencid on drums; Luisito Quintero on percussion; and Alejandro Avilés on flute.
